Why Come to Counselling?
It can sometimes be helpful to talk through a problem with a professional counsellor in a confidential and safe environment. Some people use counselling to change something specific in their lives or have a particular issue they want to resolve. Others have a sense of wanting to explore different aspects of themselves to better understand their feelings and actions.
I’m an accredited member or the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with their ethical guidelines and professional standards for practice. I’m trained in several therapeutic approaches, including Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
I’ve been a qualified supervisor for 16 years working with counsellors in the health, voluntary and private sector. Supervision is an essential requirement for counsellors and therapists but finding the right supervisor can be a challenge. I offer a free 30 minute session to talk about your experience and expectations of supervision before you make any decisions.
